Sophisticated ambience at Punjab Grill, BKC

Punjab Grill owned by Jaspal Inder Singh Kalra fondly known as Jiggs Kalra is a well known personality in the food and hospitality industry. He has received titles like Tastemaker Of India and Czar Of the Indian Cuisine.  He is the brainchild behind the famous restaurants Farzi Cafe, Made In Punjab, Masala Library and PA PA YA . I really like to visit Punjab Grill because I enjoy the delicious food, the decor, the service and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Mr. Jiggs Kalra expired on June 4’ 2019 due to his illness and now, his son Zorawar Kalra has fostered his inheritance. Jiggs Kalra was known for introducing the Galouti Kebabs and bringing Kebabs to the Indian kitchen.

So, one fine day, I recently visited Punjab Grill,Bandra Kurla Complex with my family. The restaurant has always fascinated me, and I, being a Punjabi really relish North Indian food. Punjab Grill is a social space for dining-in. The concept pertains to a modern yet classical approach and creates an interior design which carries the aroma of the cuisine. The ambience is regal and easy going inspired from the traditional Punjabi craftwork, which are interpreted patterns on the floor. The colour scheme of the restaurant has been used to create a dramatic interior setup between the materials and finishes, with touches of black, gold and white. The entire composition is a pattern inspired from the old and vintage havelis of Punjab.

We were sitting under the line of gigantic and beautiful chandeliers which gave an aura of fine dining. A dramatic open kitchen fronted by a buffet counter was present and we could experience fresh cooking. We asked the waiter to recommend their signature vegetarian starters, they recommended us for Paneer Tikka and The Kebab Platter, which was mouth-watering. While we had placed our order, I was eagerly waiting for them to arrive, and when they came on the table I could not resist myself. Later I had ordered a Mix Berries Margarita for myself, the drink was well flavoured and I could get all the flavours of the berries  and it gave a great taste. For the main course we had ordered a, Dal Punjab Grill which was luscious, which is there signature dish and along with it we had also called for Paneer Lababdar which was delightful, and along with it we had ordered for Tandoori Roti and beside it we requested for Masala Papad, which was crisp enough and with onions and their delicious green mint chutney. After placing the order for the main course, we were discussing about my trip and remembering all the wonderful memories I had. Atlast, our main course arrived, without waiting for one minute we all just served each other and started to eat. We were completely full  but we had to keep some space for the exquisite dessert, so we had ordered two desserts, first was Jalebi with Rabri Te Garam Duddh which was just out of this world, and the other was Moong Dal Da Halwa which was tasty and tempting, and it was seasoned by almonds, raisins and pistachios.

At the end, the service was exemplary, with wonderful hospitality. The staff is well-organized, attentive, courteous, efficient, quick, friendly, highly trained and knowledgeable. The coordination was commendable. The waiters go the extra mile to make the guests feel special and comfort. The environment is joyful with relaxing vibes. The Chef itself makes sure to attend each and every guest. The food was scrumptious and delicious. It was an overall delightful experience that it was indeed a treat for the eyes and an extravagant feast for the tummy.
